Queen's School of Business Expands Operations in Emirates

October 31, 2007

KINGSTON, ON – Queen’s School of Business has expanded its business education offerings in the United Arab Emirates with the addition of key custom programs for the national government and a major private bank, as well as new open enrollment programs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

His Excellency, Sultan Bin Nasser al Suwaidi, Governor of Central Bank of the UAE, and David Saunders, Dean, Queen’s School of Business (pictured here), participated in a signing ceremony yesterday to officially launch custom management education programs for the country’s Central Bank.“We are honoured that the Central Bank has chosen Queen’s School of Business to provide our world-class programs to its staff,” said David Saunders, Dean of Queen’s School of Business.

The School will initially offer courses in accounting, finance, economics and banking for Central Bank staff, and is currently developing additional executive education programs to be delivered in the future.

In May 2007, QSB became the first Canadian business school to open an executive education facility in Dubai, the country’s business centre, in partnership with the Dubai International Finance Center.

This week, Queen’s also launched a series of custom programs for Mashreq, a private bank in Dubai.

On the open-enrollment side, managers in Abu Dhabi, the nation’s capital, seeking professional development can now take advantage of Queen’s executive education courses in strategy, leadership, finance, marketing, human resources and governance, offered in partnership with CERT, the Center of Excellence for Applied Research and Training.

“More and more organizations in this dynamic economy recognize the importance of high quality business education to their future growth and success,” said Dean Saunders. “We are pleased to be working with the Central Bank and Mashreq to meet their management development needs.”

Both the open enrollment and custom programs will be taught by award-winning Queen’s School of Business faculty.
