The summer of 2003 is officially here, and with it I begin my five-year term as dean of Queen's School of Business.
I’m excited about the opportunities that are unfolding here at Queen's. I consider this the most innovative business school in Canada, and its reputation for excellence and quality is well deserved.
With so much here to work with, my first order of business is developing a strategic plan for the School. I’ve already begun the process and will solicit a great deal of input from faculty and staff over the summer. As the strategic plan evolves, I will be consulting further with our alumni, students, donors and other partners for their feedback and advice.
My other early initiative at Queen's will be to further strengthen the School’s international presence. I’m extremely impressed with the reach of our international exchange program – over 60% of our Commerce students study abroad for all or part of third year. We will further develop our initiatives beyond Canada by adding more global partners and offering more international opportunities for students and faculty.
I look forward to meeting many members of the Queen's School of Business community over the next few months.
